The mission shall continue to be: The purpose of the Danish American Language Foundation is to help preserve the Danish Language and Culture in the United States as it was established fourty years ago

The Board's vision is to:
  1. Take a more active role in supporting groups and individuals in their work of promoting the Danish Language and Culture in the United States.
  2. Raise substantial additional funds to increase the support level.
  3. To develope a network of active supporters to fulfill the mission of preserving Danish Language and Culture.

The board has set it as a goal to bring the endowment to $250,000 in five years. The endowment today is about $50,000. It is envisioned that the needed $200,000 will be raised both in the United States and Denmark. It will also be possible to donate so called "pass through funds" besides the endowment. These additional funds will enable the Danish American Language Foundation to play a much larger role in carrying out its mission.
