Dear Friends of the Danish Language and Culture:
We hope you will save the date, rain or shine for:
2021 Fun-Fundraiser Event
Sunday 29 August 2021
from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Poul's Landscaping and Nursery
6754 Indian Creek, Long Grove, lL 60047
This is our official invitation to you to come to the Danish American Language Foundation "Fun-Fundraiser".
For over 40 years, the Danish American Language Foundation has sent young students to Danish school in Denmark and the U.S., supported Danish classes from Chicago to Texas to the Pacific North West and much more.
Danish may be a small language spoken by only 5-6 million people, but we understand quite well our Norwegian and Swedish brothers and sisters; so, if you speak Danish you can now communicate with well over 20 million people!
From the original $50,000, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark brought 45 years ago, we have grown the capital fund to $180,000. Five years ago, in 2016, we set the goal to reach $250,000 in 2021. We are asking you to help us with that.
We have a donor who will double match whatever we raise at the event, up to $50,000. So that means, if we raise $25,000, he will chip in $50,000!
The entry fee of the event is $100.00, which includes beverages, food, and entertainment. This also includes a beer and wine tasting from local breweries and wineries. Since all the expense to put the event together has been donated by the Danish American Language Foundation Board and their friends, your contribution will go 100% to the Danish American Language Foundation Capital Fund. Our goal today is to raise a minimum of $25,000. Your support in this is greatly appreciated.
Since the Danish American Language Foundation is an lRS approved 501(c)(3) educational organization any donation can be deducted from taxable income, according to the laws.
We shall very much hope to see you at this event. Please see the program and sign up information on the next page. Very truly yours,
The Danish American Language Foundation Board
